The 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks is Sunday.  There’s a lot of “church media” on the market and shrink-wrapped sermons. I’ve seen a few good videos but some of the material out there just seem to be attempts to make a cheap buck. I’ve become a little jaded on the mass marketing. I don’t think 9/11 is an “opportunity” for a really cool sermon idea. Instead, I’d rather use the day as a remembrance of the victims and brave public servants who gave their lives to save others. I’d rather use it as a day to remember those brave men and women who are still laying down their lives for freedom.  I’d rather use it as a day to teach my children the history of the day that defined their generation. I’d rather use it as a day to be thankful that in America we still live in a land where we are free to worship God and preach from His Word. But instead of creating a pop culture event in our churches, maybe the best place to remember 9/11 is in the prayer closet, at the altar, and around the dinner table?
