What Really Matters

(Gen 1:1)  “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

Let the reality of this verse strike you with full force.  Catapult your mind back through the eons.  Before money, computers, cars.  Before armies and war.  Before man.  In the beginning…there was God.  Now turn your thinking forward and know that as Francis Schaeffer states, “God is the final reality.”  When we strip away everything else that seems to be real, there is only the reality that there is God and He exists at this very moment.  Day and night, sun and moon, man and beast – He alone created them.  He alone purposes the Body of Christ and Israel for two places that He alone created – the heaven and earth.  Who is this God that existed at the beginning and exists yet today?  Can I know Him personally?  Can I know Him?

The Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

Yes, I can know Him!  Not only can I know Him, I can be related to Him!  Not only can I be related to Him, I can belong to Him!  The God of this universe, the Creator of all things, the all-powerful Deity, far above the awesomeness of the largest galaxy, far bigger than the largest country, far richer than the greatest treasures can be my Father…and yours.

Renewed Thought – When you look at everything in life and all that you possess, the only thing that will matter 100 years from now is eternity.

No Secret

Ephesians 3:2-3 – “If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:  How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery…”

Praise the Lord He dispenses His grace today!  I deserved His wrath and He gives me mercy, I deserve death and He gives me life, I deserve Hell and He gives Heaven.  I can now sing with the great hymn writer Fanny Crosby, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”  This great mystery that God would dispense His grace to both Jew and Gentile is yet another way that He demonstrates His grace.  Both Jew and Gentile deserved wrath.  God chose to reveal a secret to Saul the murderer.  He changed the killer into an Apostle and revealed that, in Christ, all of us can now become His children!  If God’s grace can do all of that, what can’t He do?  “Morning by morning new mercies I see!”

Renewed Thought – I should not keep it a secret that God is dispensing His grace today.<–>
